IDF First Draft Notice

The Tzav Rishon - צו ראשון is the first draft notice to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), also called Tzahal - צה”ל - short for Tzavah Haganah LeYisrael. Olim Chadashim usually receive the Tzav Rishon at their home address. Once you receive it, you are officially considered a candidate for the IDF, a Malshab - מלש”ב.

The Tzav Rishon will include

The time and date you need to report to the Lishkat Hagiyus – לשכת הגיוס – the IDF Recruitment Office .

What to do next?

The doctor will fill in the She´elon Refu´i Tzav Rishon – שאלון רפואי צו ראשון – the medical questionnaire for the Tzav Rishon, and sign it.

The doctor will give you a Hafnaya – הפניה – a referral, for a urine test.

Make an appointment with an Rofe Einayim – רופא עיניים – an eye doctor (not an optometrist) through your Kupat Cholim.
