Evaluation of Foreign Academic Degrees

Ha’arachat Te’arim Academiyim MeChu”l הערכת תארים אקדמיים מחו"ל

The authority for degree evaluation for Olim Chadashim - עולים חדשים - new immigrants who arrived in Israel beginning 01.01.2025 has been transferred to the Misrad HaKlita - משרד הקליטה - Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.

Anyone who immigrated to Israel or submitted a pre-immigration application before this date to the Ministry of Education will continue the process with the Ministry of Education. Contact us for more information if this is your case.

Overview

Submission of degree evaluation applications to the Misrad HaKlita is done only through your personal area on the government website.

The Ishur – אישור – official degree evaluation received from Misrad HaKlita should be accepted by both private and public sector employers.

Olim Chadashim who have studied prior to making Aliyah can turn to the absorption counselors in the nearest Misrad Haklita branch in order to have them stamp their documents as Ne’eman Lamakor – נאמן למקור – faithful to the original, free of charge, instead of paying a lawyer.

For Professional Recognition

In order to work in a profession that requires licensing, one should check what type of evaluation is required by the government body in charge of the desired field of licensing.

A list of professions that require licensing and how to receive a license can be found here.

For Higher Education

However, for the purpose of admission to university or college for an advanced degree, most schools conduct the evaluation of foreign degrees at the academic institution itself and according to academic criteria.

If you are interested in applying for academic studies, we recommend contacting the Pre-Aliyah and Studies team at the Israel Student Authority who can advise and assist in the matter of obtaining certificates from abroad for admission to schools in Israel as well as provide guidance regarding the various institutions and whether it is necessary to contact the Misrad HaKlita for degree evaluation or not. The service is provided in a variety of languages, English, Russian, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

This guide was created and translated based on Misrad Haklita’s website.
